Awhile back, I was looking for ways to save cash on my monthly entertainment bill when I came across a site called Satellite Direct TV which provides “satellite to PC Technology.  For those who are unaware of it, satellite to PC technology is a software based application that allows your computer to receive a direct satellite feed without the need for a dish or a receiver.

The cost was a $50 one time fee and I decided to take a chance on it not really knowing what to expect.

And it turned out to be a good move.  The system worked really well right from the start with the download and installation taking about a minute and maybe another minute to validate my registration and get it running.

A couple of weeks ago, I came across an ad for something called Satellite Direct.  Having no idea what it was, I visited their website which claimed that Satellite Direct TV offered over 3500 channels of programming streamed directly to your home PC.  Naturally, I was pretty suspicious of the marketing materials (including the cheesy “As Seen On TV” logo!) and asked myself the obvious question: “Is Satellite Direct TV a Scam?”

Satellite Direct TV is definitely NOT a scam.  It’s a cool service that lets you enjoy satellite television streamed  directly to your PC or Mac.  All that is required to make it work is a standard high speed internet connection.  You don’t need a satellite dish or a receiver or any special video or sound cards.  I’m really enjoying it and like that I can take it on laptop wherever I go.
